Testimonials

Bethany, a 25-year-old female client, says:

“I suffered from severe neck pain (from a spinal fracture) and knee pain (from sports injuries). As a vocational researcher with an active lifestyle, the pain would become debilitating at times for me. Headaches where a continual struggle and eventually I just accepted the pain as part of my lifestyle. In my sessions with Janni, I quickly recognized that she was a competent, educated therapist who knew what she was doing. The results from my first session were far better than any previous treatments I had received. As a long-time client, I can honestly say that pain is no longer the lifestyle I have to accept or endure. She educates me each session on ways to maintain good muscular health, posture, and a better lifestyle. I HIGHLY recommend Janni. She never ceases to impress me. For lasting relief, her results are assured.”

Cam, 54-year-old female client:

“When I first came to see Janni, I asked her to just work on my upper back, because that is where my pain was. I sit at a desk most of the time and it had gotten bad. She explained to me what I had never heard before, that I would not have pain relief unless she fixed my posture, not just my back. She explained how the front-of-body muscles get tight from sitting and driving, and they pull the head and shoulders forward, like slumping. She said the muscles in the back form knots to compensate, and that is why the back and neck hurts so much. She spent the first half of my session working on my neck, the front of my shoulders, diaphragm, abs and front of my legs. Then she massaged my back and it felt WONDERFUL. I stood up and immediately felt different. my shoulders were back without trying, I stood up straight, and my upper back felt much much looser. The results lasted for several months until I went on a long car trip, then I went back for another session. Highly recommended!”

Jason, 42-year-old male client:

“I had never had a massage and I went because I heard about a therapist who worked in a chiropractor office and did more than rub people. I had carpal tunnel [syndrome] and heel pain. Janni worked on my hand and arm muscles all the way up to my chest and neck for two sessions, as well as using a tool on my heel I had never seen before. She massaged the lower leg as well. After the two sessions my carpal tunnel was about 90% less painful, and the heel pain went away. I won’t have surgery. My knees even feel better too.”

Nicole, 32-year-old female client:

“For the past 6 years my back has constantly hurt me. For the first couple of years I thought that it was because I was/had been pregnant but as it progressively got worse I realized that wasn’t the case. I own a landscaping business and about a year and a half ago I went out with my crew to do a very large job. . . . I woke up the next morning in excruciating pain. My husband took me to the ER in G********** and basically all they did was give me a shot, a prescription for pain pills (that didn’t work) and a referral to a neurologist [who told me] I have a deteriorating disk or deteriorating disk disorder. He told me to try injections ( I am assuming cortisone or steroid injections) in my back, which I did. . . . Long story short, I wasted my time. It took about 5 days for the injection to start working and when it did work it lasted about 5 days. When I followed up with him and he asked me about doing 2 more injections ( you can only have 3 per year), I told him that I felt that it was a waste of my time and money. He then told me the only other choice was to have a disk replacement. I told him I would think about it and never called him after that. I just learned to live with the pain.

About a month ago I went to sleep one night and woke up at 3 am to the most excruciating pain I ever had in my life. I couldn’t walk; I couldn’t even roll over. I tried to wait until my chiropractor, Dr. M, opened. I held out until about 6 am and just couldn’t take it any longer. I had my husband drive me to the ER because I needed something to take the pain away . . . so the doctor gave me a narcotic pain reliever but that wasn’t even strong enough. I got out of there and went straight to Dr. M’s office. I couldn’t stand up straight; I was walking w/ the help of my husband. Dr. M saw how bad off I was and did his thing . . . My 2nd visit he told me about a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist that worked out of his office. Now normally I’m not the kind person that believes a massage would help. I have had massages in the past, but they were Swedish or deep tissue massage just for relaxation. But I was in so much pain I was willing to try anything. So I made an appointment with Janni an hour before my next appointment with Dr. M. She was very thorough; she worked on the area of my back that the pain was radiating from, but she also worked on areas I didn’t realize were connected to the particular area of my back that hurt. She explained everything she was doing in detail. I paid for an hour and she worked on me for about an hour and a half . . . She was more concerned that she covered everything and got me better than was about the money. The very first visit when I walked out, my husband and Dr. M were shocked because I was standing straight up – before, I had been walking with 2 canes as low as they would go. Janni explained how Dr. M worked on the bones but she worked on the muscles around the bones and nerves. Now, I wasn’t completely cured the first visit (and with the kind of back problems I have I never will be). But after about 5 visits I was back to my normal self. She not only kept me from having to have back surgery – she also helped with my posture and sinuses.

I am now a firm believer in the kind of massage therapy Janni does. I will no longer waste my money on any other kind of massage again, nor will I allow anyone else to massage me but her. I have never found someone to go above and beyond like she does. I have recommended her to several people and I plan on buying my sister and husband a gift certificate because I think you have to experience it before you can understand and appreciate it. Most people are like I was before I went and think it’s just something else to waste money on. Had I not had her to work on my back I would have spent $10,000 or more at the neurologist versus spending [much less]  with Janni. If you would like to speak to me about it, ask Janni for my number and I will be more than happy to speak with you. I’m not getting anything out of this; I’m just VERY grateful that she gave me back a good quality of life. Before her and Dr. M my quality of life wasn’t very good, and I told my husband that I understand why people with chronic pain say they just want to die. I honestly feel she not only helped me get my life back, but she saved it as well.”
