What I Do
We all have issues. Nearly every person has some form of postural imbalance; these can occur from driving, sitting at a desk, moving heavy objects, carrying a purse, sleeping in weird positions, etc. Some of us struggle with headaches, others have back pain. Something as simple as a sprained ankle, long since healed, can cause a chain reaction that ends up as chronic low back or shoulder pain.
Even a slight postural distortion, such as the common “forward” (slumped) posture, can result in POUNDS of extra pressure on the neck, spine, and lower back. People often complain of pain and tension in these areas. The muscles form knots in the front and back of the body, trying to stabilize the posture, but the results are not pleasant.
Unless these postural problems/pain patterns are corrected, the pain will not go away.
All of my services address the posture in one way or another, as well as specific conditions and goals each person may have.
Neuromuscular Therapy – This is very individualized, specific work, designed to alleviate pain at its source. If you have chronic or acute pain, this is for you. The focus of my NMT work is to balance the major postural muscles (reset the posture to relieve the spine) and then use trigger point therapy and other techniques to relieve tension in the rest of the muscles involved. This helps balance the central nervous system, resulting in pain relief AND lasting injury prevention. (See FAQ page for more NMT info.)
NMT is great for:
- Joint pain
- Headaches

Sports Therapy – You don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage therapy. This therapy incorporates many techniques including PNF stretching, soft tissue manipulation, trigger point therapy, joint decompression, and more – all designed to keep muscles in tip-top shape. Whether you frequent the gym, practice yoga or Pilates, practice a musical instrument many hours a day, tile floors, move furniture, or chase toddlars all day, sports therapy will keep you limber and help prevent injury. It has been shown to help athletes warm up and cool down from events, as well as helping to prevent/recover from injuries.
